"After winning the Formula Zero British GP, the Solvay Umicore Zero Emission Racing Team from Leuven, Belgium, seemed unbeatable during the Formula Zero Dutch GP which was held on Sunday 23rd of August 2009 at Kombikart Circuit Nieuw-Zevenbergen near Oss, the Netherlands. But the Belgian team found some minor technical difficulties during the final of the main race. UnizartecH2 (Zaragoza, Spain) was quick as well took advantage of slower lap of their main rival and won the Dutch GP."
With two different overall winners in two events, only Imperial Racing Green (London, UK) and Rotterdam FZ-GP (2008) winner Greenchoice Forze are seeking for a win in this Formula Zero European Championship. The British team (London, UK) finished both during the sprint and the main race on the podium, while the Dutch team from Technical University Delft wasn’t able to start. As the Formula Zero racing series and teams are developing and using new technologies, it can happen that unexpected technical difficulties appear. But it’s a pity that it happened to this team during their home Grand Prix.
The happiness of the Spanish crew was overwhelming and all the teams and Formula Zero crew are now looking forward to Saturday 29th of August 2009. The penultimate round of the championship takes place at Circuit Genk in Belgium. Everybody is invited to see world’s first championship powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology. Free entrance.
