![]() | THE BATTLE FOR 0TH CONTINUES WITH FORMULA ZERO |
"Formula Zero is proud to announce the new calendar. Four top university teams will battle for 0th position during the scheduled four races of the Formula Zero European Championship. World’s first competition powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology will visit circuits in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain this summer. The racing series combines fun and sustainability with racing. Therefore it’s a unique formula, Formula Zero!"
After a year break the Formula Zero teams will hit the track again. Who is able to beat Rotterdam winners Greenchoice Forze (Delft, the Netherlands) or UnizartecH2 (Zaragoza, Spain)? The Dutch team recently presented their new vehicle and it’s promised to go even faster. But also the Spanish team, Solvay Umicore Zero Emission Racing Team (Leuven, Belgium) and Imperial Racing Green (London, UK) continued their work. The first trial of strength takes place on Thursday 20 August at Mytchett Place, London, United Kingdom.
“"We won't stop", words that are part of the genetic make-up of Formula Zero. We are proud to announce four new races with the European Formula Zero teams that are an expression of this attitude”, says Formula Zero CEO Godert van Hardenbroek. “The people that make up these teams have demonstrated resilience to make these races happen in a world that is changing rapidly around us. We've gone through a period where we had difficulties finding resources because of the economical downturn and changes in the sustainable automotive landscape. However, changes are also providing opportunities for new developments. An interesting example in that respect is the decision of BMW to quit with F1, not to quit with motorsport but to focus more resources on sustainability and environmental compatibility. We are ready to serve these developments and increase the stakes in zero emission racing.”
