On 22nd August 2008 Formula Zero will launch the world’s first international championship for fuel cell powered racers. The world premiere of the 2008 Formula Zero Championship will take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This comes at a time when the automotive industry is revving up for the commercialization of fuel cell powered cars, and the oil price is at an all time high.

The six competing teams, from the UK, the US, Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands, have been extensively designing, building and testing their karts. The race for the future will begin this August, when these teams will compete for the first time. Come and see who will come in ‘zeroest’ place!
World Premiere: The Rotterdam FZ-GP

The Formula Zero Championship World Premiere will be held at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge, on Willemsplein, Rotterdam, thanks to the support from the Rotterdam Climate Initiative.
Program
The Rotterdam FZ-GP will be a two day event on the Friday and Saturday from 16:00. Teams will compete in Sprint and Main Races, to set the fastest lap times. On both days the general public can come and experience fuel cell racing, live in the centre of Rotterdam-Free of charge.
VIP Tickets
VIPs will be able to enjoy the races from the sun deck of a ship, docked at the Willemsplein, providing excellent views over the race circuit. VIP tickets are limited and include a pit walkabout, hospitality, entertainment, and celebrations with the teams and drivers. By public transport:
From Rotterdam Central Station:
- by subway to Leuvehaven-station (direction Slinge or Spijkenisse) or
- by tram 7 to Willemsplein
By car:
Coming from: Utrecht/Gouda
• take the A20 in the direction of Rotterdam
• then take the A16 in the direction of Dordrecht
• before crossing the Van Brienenoord bridge take exit nr. 25 in the direction of
Centrum/Capelle a/d IJssel
• turn right at the traffic lights in the direction of Centrum
• go straight on along Maasboulevard and Boompjes
• at the end of Boompjes you will see the Erasmus bridge on your left hand side
• at the intersection you will go straight ahead passing the Erasmus bridge on your left
• turn left into Scheepstimmermanlaan at the next traffic lights
• take the first turning on the left into Gedempte Zalmhaven
• at the end of the road you will find Willemsplein
Coming from: Den Haag/Hoek van Holland
• take the A20 in the direction of Utrecht
• then take the A16 in the direction of Dordrecht
• before crossing the Van Brienenoord bridge take exit nr. 25 in the direction of

• take the A16 in the direction of Rotterdam
• long before you reach the Van Brienenoord bridge you have to follow the signs
Centrum/Capelle a/d IJssel (exits 24-26)
• keep to the right and take the first turning after the bridge in the direction of Centrum (exit 25)
• turn left at the traffic lights (take 3/4 of the roundabout)
• go straight on along Maasboulevard and Boompjes
